The beginning

In March 2005 we attended a straw sewing course, on the initiative of Mr. Ilario Garbani Marcantini. Teacher was Mrs. Senta Nussberger.

The ladies Lidia Schira and Marta Regazzoni, the last witnesses of this ancient activity, have passed on to us the ancient traditions of weaving and sewing straw.

 

This marked the birth of the association

This ancient craft activity, carried out with a modern spirit, has fascinated us and

 

on November 10th 2005, the founding assembly of the PAGLIARTE association was held.

We are four women active in straw processing who have decided to practice this activity as a hobby.
